Happy New Year!!!

My start into the year 2010 in St.Anton was one of the best ever!

Surrounded by Helli and my best friends I finished a great year and started the new one with a lot of dancing. After having a nice fondue-evening and some fun in Top 11, we managed to arrive just in time at the Krazy Kanguruh to watch the fireworks. From then on Helli, Eva, Andi, Fossi, Tina, Mario, Carina and me kept celebrating the start of the year 2010. We were definitely on a dancing mission that night and ended up in Bobo's after a crazy slide down to St.Anton on hard packed and icy snow. Luckily we met Manuel, just on the way home from his photo-job, driving us back to Top 11.

For sure we made a few New Year Resolutions (especially Eva and me)- but they gonna stay secret ;-)...

Lots of fresh snow in St.Anton

Two days after Christmas Wolfgang, Eva, Helli and me went to St.Anton to search for the fresh snow the weather-forecast promised. And there it was- lots of cold, fresh, white powder and not a lot of people around. Right in time, when they opened the Schindler chair lift around 12 o'clock, we were there and found some nice lines to ski. The terrain is great to play with my Watea Skis.

For the next run we skied a really nice line in one of the secret spots leading into Mattun. Wolfgang skied an untracked ridge and visibly enjoyed himself cruising through the fresh snow. Even though it was a super cold day, my toes and fingers stayed warm and we kept on riding till they closed the lifts.

Merry X-Mas to all of you!!!

On the 24th of December my parents and my brother Wolfgang together with girl Eva arrived in Innsbruck to spend Christmas-Eve together with Helli and me. We thought about going for some skiing up to Seegrube but finally ended up shopping and enjoying the Christmas atmosphere in Innsbruck City. 

So Eva, Helli and me went for at least a bit of training to Happy Fitness, which was amazingly well attended even on the 24th, while Wolfgang and my parents had some Glühwein in town. 

Thanks to the Happy Fitness team for working on the 24th of December and for the nice Christmas present we got!

After finishing some preparations we all had a really great Christmas evening with great people, good food and for sure some great presents from the Christkind ;-). 

I really enjoyed spending some time together with my family!

Season Opening- St.Anton

Finally the snow has arrived and one after the other lift in St.Anton is opening for the first time this season. I had a great day skiing the first pow turns in Zürs. It's great to cruise through the fluffy white pow and train to get ready for the season.

The next day Helli and me skinned up to Galzig and had some great training runs on piste. Am looking forward to a great season around the Arlberg!

First Snow has arrived in Innsbruck

Waking up on the 4th of December and looking out of the window was just great...everything was covered in white and big snowflakes were falling off the sky.
I grabbed myself a beanie some gloves, my new Narvik mid layer and some shoes and built the first snowman of the season right in our garden!

What a great thing to start a day! After a nice breakfast I had to go up to the mountains and see how the conditions are...finally I had a great day skiing a little powder ;-)).

Till now it has snowed even more and we got a little base underneath the fressh snow...so skiing is fun!!!

Oslo- what a great city!

Kjersti, a good friend of mine introduced me to many secret spots of the city and was my local tourist guide for a few days. I especially remember standing at the beach in the dark and in pooring rain ;-).
Thanks Kjersti for letting me stay at your place and for your time, altough you are working a lot!

Further we had some interesting product talks and meetings at the Norrona factory. For me it was the first time visiting the factory itself and it was great to see that all the products are produced in Norway and how the production team works together. It was nice to meet the whole crew personally.
The next year's products are as usual going to be even better including more features and optimized functionality and style. I especially like the improvement of the Narvik line, I get to try out at the moment.

Finally we were invited to a great X-Mas party- Norwegian style- hip hop theme! I absolutely enjoyed food, drinks and dancing with the Norrona crew.

Back on Fischer Skis

Since October 2009 I am very proud about the great news of riding Fischer skis again.
For me Fischer is definitely the best ski brand to ski on.

As an Austrian company Fischer prduces high end racing, freeride and all mountain skis. Especially with the new Watea 114 they managed to develop a ski that floats through powder.

The new powder hull shovel construction, developped direct from speedboat engineering gives the ski a maximum of movability, a better float and stability for faster turns. Further the core is made of an Carbon fibre I-Beam embedded in a milled wood core- made for the thoughest situations. Perfect edge grip and extremely smooth running is provided by the wood core with double Titanal shell, reinforced with Air Carbon.
The Watea ski in combination with one of the Fischer freeride bindings is definitely the right choice for great days in powder!
